We know you love Kerala during winters. But Third Eye Explorers would like to show through it’s unique eyes, how fabulous Kerala is specifically now in August. It becomes all green & colourful with festival & monsoons. Our trip is different from 95% of other usual Kerala tours.
Major Attractions
Snake Boat Race (Vallam Kali): Its a traditional boat race event in Kerala conducted specially this season from past 600 years. Its a major tourist attraction of races of longboats paddled by around 100 men rowing a boat together. On the day of this fiercely fought boat race, the tranquil lake front is transformed into a sea of humanity, including tourists from abroad for watching it.
Blue Beauty: Every 12 years, the hills of Munnar burst into a sea of blue, a rare natural spectacle. An endless stretch of rolling hills carpeted with tiny blue flowers welcomes the visitors. It’s the time of Neelakurinji, a flower with 40 odd varieties. This stellar phenomenon can be admired only now when these flowers bloom. Admire ‘Valley of Flowers’ (or Hills to be precise) in the South without any hikes.
Overflowing Waterfalls: What better season than the monsoons to see the waterfalls in their full glory? One is the Largest Waterfall in Kerala, where shooting of several films have happened here, like Baahubali, Raavan, Dil Se, Guru, Madras Cafe, etc… We will visit several waterfalls in the whole tour.
Colourful Onam Festival : To be in Kerala during Onam is a delight, as it is the most important festival of Kerala. You will savour the rich cultural heritage of Kerala through folk dances, world’s oldest martial art form – Kalaripayattu, decorated elephants, traditions, feasts, etc. We will relish the famous Onam Sadya lunch in this tour. Also, it’s the best time now to get an Ayurvedic Kerala massage, which foreigners come specifically for.
