A World Heritage Site, Valley of Flowers is an Indian National park, a monsoon trek. When you will be driven to Govind Ghat you will have breathtaking rain-washed landscapes and the Alaknanda will accompany you. You will be passing through lush greenery, hillside hamlets and streams. The Valley of Flowers looks like a carpet of colours – green, yellow, red, blue. The flowering pattern keeps changing in few days. Flowers that grow here are rare and the valley is surrounded by mountains with bright snow at the top, brown and grey soil in the middle and trees at lower levels.
Valley of flowers trek is a must do trek by every trekker in the Himalayas. Valley of flowers is located in western Himalayan valley in Chamoli district. Trek starts from Govindghat where you can reach by road from Haridwar.

Valley of flowers is a good trek for people of all age groups. You can go on this trek with your parents and little ones. This is a popular and well established trail where the flowers provide you with visual delights while the sacred Hemkund Sahib is manna for your spirit.
The Valley of Flowers trek manages to show you a glimpse of the joys of Himalayan trekking in just about four days. Once you finish this trek, it doesn’t come as a surprise when you find yourself planning your next big Himalayan adventure.

Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Getting to base camp, Govind Ghat
10-11 Hrs: Hotel Stay
We will camp at Govind Ghat, little beyond Joshimath. It will take you approx 11 Hours to reach here from Haridwar/Kathgodam.
Day 2: Govind Ghat to Ghanghria
6-7 Hrs: Stay in Tents
Trek starts from crossing the bridge over Alaknanda river. The complete trek goes along the river side and is full of breathtaking views. Once we are at Ghangharia, you will find helipad and space to camp. We will stay at our camp today.
Day 3: Ghangria to Valley of Flowers and back to Ghangria
10 Km: Stay in Tents
We will leave early so we can have whole day to enjoy the beauty of Valley of Flowers. Once you are in the gates of the Valley of Flowers you can imagine yourself to be in a dreamland. Enjoy flowers, lot of flowers, like a carpet on the mountains and then you will find glaciers, bees and nature. Come back to Ghangharia with heart filled with nature’s beauty.
Day 4: Ghangria to Hemkund Sahib and back to Ghangria
7-8 Hrs: Stay in Tents
Today will again be an early start to visit the Hemkund Sahib. You will need a poncho and might need a trekking pole as well. We will trek slowly and steadily on the steep path with mesmerizing views all around. Melting glaciers, river stream and waterfall all beautiful… After around 2 Hrs you will be above the tree line. Take numerous breaks as the path is gonna be tough today. Once you are at the Gurudwara, warm yourself with tea and khichdi. The lake is just behind the gurudwara. Enjoy the lake in the midst of mountains at an altitude of around 4300 mts. Will leave by afternoon. Today it’s gonna be tough on knees and toes. Stay at Ghangharia.
Day 5: Ghangria to Govind Ghat
5-6 Hrs: Stay in Hotel
Let’s trek back with the memories and recognize the things we crossed earlier. Once you are at Govind Ghat, you can plan to visit Badrinath / Auli the next day. Stay at Govind Ghat
Day 6: Govind Ghat to Haridwar
Drive back to Haridwar/Kathgodam with lots of memories
Charges: Just Rs. 9999/- per person including pickup & drop at Haridwar

Accommodation during the trek will be in rooms & tents at different places, where you will be sharing with fellow trekkers.
2. What will the temperatures be like during this trek?
Day time temperatures will range from 12-20ºC and night time temperature will range from 4-10ºC.
3. Will there be snow on this trek?
There will be no snow on the trek.
4. Which are the best seasons for the Valley of Flowers trek?
This trek is best done during monsoon, July – September, when the valley comes alive with the alpine flowers that it is known for. After that, the beauty wilts off.
5. Are backpacks, raincoats and other equipments available for rent?
There are several websites that rent out trekking equipment. We can guide you for the same.
6. Is this a good trek for a first timer?
Valley of Flower trek is easy-moderate and the trail is popular and well established. It is suitable for a first time trekker provided you are fit and prepared (we’ll provide with more details) for the trek before setting off.
7. Can I take my child along on this trek? What is the age limit?
The minimum age requirement for this trek is 8 years. If your child meets this criterion and is physically fit, you can take her/him along.
